I don't want to have a spoiler or anything....but I just was curious.

In Violet City, you are given the option to trade a geodude for a pikachu. I did, and the pikachu was shiny!

was this intentional? or am I just REALLLLLLLLLLYYYYY lucky?

Again, don't mean to have a spoiler but I was just wondering.

It is intentional to be shiny. I think I made his values the highest value they can be for shiny, but I would have to go back and check.

By the way, I've announced this on PC but haven't mentioned it in this thread yet- I'll soon be releasing a patch that will have a few minor bugs fixed that had still sneaked through testing, make ELM's call about the egg make sense, and will add in a powerful final trainer, since there wasn't one in this version, and it seems as though a lot of you miss having one. I had an unused map or two and an unused flag lying around, as well as an unused trainer class, so I figured I might as well add that in while fixing bugs. Expect it soon!

Check the first post for the new patch! Apply to a clean rom, give it the same name as the last one, and continue where you left off.

If you already had a mamoswine, his EXP will probably be weird, but any newly evolved ones will not have the EXP bug.

Also, don't save in Unknown Dungeon before resuming from the new patch.

Redux is 'on hold'. I have however found the files, but it's still (pretty much) dead at the moment.

Kanto's maps are updated like Johto's, events have been changed, and there are new events and a couple of new places as well. There is also an event in Kanto that activates something in Johto. The final trainer (like Red used to be) is also in Kanto. So nope, its not all just the same.

Also, a slight update.

While this hack is complete, I have a few ideas in mind for some post-game additions that would add some replay value, and I'll see about putting them together for a release later in the year as a way to make up for the fact that Spirits and Legends (aka "The Halloween Hack") will realistically not be ready by October.

While the list is subject to change, here are a list of some features that I would likely include in the proposed Christmas Update:
- Ability to re-battle Gym Leaders whenever you want after defeating Leaf (with stronger teams, of course)
- More functional battle tower (after Kanto)
- Possibly access to the new routes added in HG/SS and the Safari Zone, although it would not have "normal" Safari Zone battles.

I'd like some feedback though, if you guys like the idea of these additions, and if you have any suggestions as well.

Do you mean to add these to the Gold base? I personally would rather start waiting now and have a sooner, quicker Red based demo (even to Pewter would be great).
I also have no idea who you mean by Leaf, so I'm guessing I missed a rumor or something.

In that case, I think it'd be great if the new updates were to come around Christmas.
Are you going to come up with a different name for this too?
